Pesticide & Eco-toxicology Facility

Ecotoxicology & Pesticide Facility (EPF) is a specialized in executing various research studies on the toxicological effects of environmental pollutants on coastal ecosystems. The EPF is fully staffed and equipped to conduct biomonitoring and experimental toxicity tests with coastal and marine aquatic organisms. As part of this research program, coastal organisms are subjected to exposed varying concentrations of an aqueous solution to determine the lethal or sub-lethal effects of toxic pollutants. Additionally, these toxicology studies provide basic understanding of risk control and prescribed limits of various toxic pollutants for coastal ecosystem as well as human health. Ecotixicology lab is comprised of a large acclimatization room for organisms, an environmentally controlled chambers, a continuous flow through test system, and a dedicated photosynthetic culture area.
