Geodatabase Development

Geodatabase is the sharing of common data among a large user community.

Geodatabases forms the core aspects of GIS as they contain the spatial references and the topology details of the spatial data . Any discrepancy in the spatial attributes will lead to damage of the information.Hence geodatabase are becoming more essential for the processes of decisions making and elaborating development strategies based on spatial data. Besides the classical types of data used in the information systems, the geospatial data have strongly developed in the recent years. These data refer to the geographic localization of certain objects on the planet, their shape and size. In this regard, NCSCM has facilitated to install and configured a high end Database server (Oracle) for the following activity.

  • Created centralized GIS repository using ArcSDE to store and retrieve the spatial (vector and images) and non-spatial data.
  • Created separate databases for other research and utility applications like CoMBINE, Satellite imagery catalogging and other administrative modules.
  • Data Integrity, Database portability, Application portability are achieved
  • Automized Scheduled Backup (Hot and cold backup) of database.

Web Mapping Application Development:


Developing and maintaining GIS-based web applications for viewing and querying maps based on research activity.

Applications are developed using ArcGIS for Silverlight & ArcGIS for Flex, these web application are using the Representational State Transfer (REST) services which are created from ArcGIS Server and Apollo server.
